Author Vendor Table Setup Ideas

Setting up an author vendor table can be an exciting opportunity to connect with readers, promote your books, and enhance your brand. Here are some ideas to help you make your vendor table fun, engaging, and appealing to attract visitors.

Tablecloth and Decorations:

Use a colorful or branded tablecloth to catch your prospective buyers' attention. Incorporate props related to your books, such as figurines, posters, or themed decorations that reflect your stories.

Banner: Create a banner with your name, business logo, and book titles. Add a catchy slogan that captures the essence of your work. Choose colors that match your brand. Bees are part of my brand so I add decorations to carry that theme throughout. This is the cute Bumblebee Banner that I have been using.

Book Display: Use stands, baskets, and shelves to display your books. Arrange them neatly and at varying heights to catch the eye. I use these rustic baskets to place some of my books, and this nice wooden stand. It is super easy to put together. This Rack 4-tiered- rack gives the space some height which helps to create dimension and interest.

Wheel Setup: Spinning prize wheels are lots of fun! Investing in a small prize wheel is totally worth it! I wanted a fun wheel that was colorful and easy to set up. This is the one I use. It is super fun and easy to transport. You can label different sections with various prizes. I include things like bookmarks, stickers, small toys, or discounts on book purchases. I purchased these cute little bumblebees which I hand out with a bookmark when someone makes a purchase.

Coloring Pages: Offer activity sheets like coloring pages, word searches, and puzzles related to your books.

Giveaways and Promotions: Have a basket of bookmarks, stickers, and small educational flyers related to reading and your books. Include a QR code on your flyer for easy access to your online store or newsletter sign-up page. This is a great way of growing your email list.

Dress the Part: Comfort is key! Choose comfortable clothing that reflect your brand or the themes of your books. This makes you approachable. I am a big fan of these Bohemian Floral Dresses and these stylish, AND super comfortable sneakers.

Packing Essentials: Bring enough copies of your books and any related merchandise. Also, chose the right containers to transport your merchandise to ensure their safety. I use brown wrapping paper to protect the books. I also add a bit more for extra cushioning in the boxes. I use these foldable heavy-duty totes to transport my books. This foldable Rolling Crate is perfect for moving boxes in and out of my car. It also serves as an extra sitting for when my husband comes along to help mind the table.

Money Box: Use a secure money box for cash transactions. Make sure to have small bills for change. Consider setting up an easy online payment. There are plenty of apps available.

Personal Essentials: Pack a portable phone charger to ensure you can stay connected throughout the event. It can be specially important if you are receiving online payment. This is the one I use. I really like it because it is nice and compact. It also has a pretty fast charging battery.

AND.... don't forget a fabulous water bottle to help you stay hydrated!

That's all I got for now! Happy selling and best of luck with your event!
