Celebrate Kindergarten's Halfway Point!
The hallways are brightly decorated with colorful posters! Second graders have creatively reminded the whole school community that Halfway Day is just around the corner. Honestly, it totally snuck up on me! The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of mid-year assessments and progress reports, so... thanks, second graders, for keeping it real!
Next week, we celebrate growth! I think about my little kindergarteners who walked through my door this fall with wide eyes and heavy backpacks. Next week, I will watch as they stand a little taller :) Their little (and not-so-little) personalities now shining bright.
While this halfway point surprised me, I'm ready to embrace it! For me, this milestone is a moment to celebrate – not just for our little learners, but for us, grown-ups!
As the second graders pointed out, our whole school is in on the celebration!
So, how do I make Halfway Day special in my classroom for my kindergarteners? Read on...
I created this "Happy Halfway Day" Activity Pack that includes many of the activities my students love to do.
THIS RESOURCE is packed with fun and curriculum-integrated activities that can be set up through the classroom as centers.
It includes:
- Crown creations
- Sorting quantities into "halves"
- Artistic symmetry
- Happy Halfway Day T-shirt design
- Halfway Day bingo
- Halfway Day memories
Let's raise our juice boxes and cheer for our amazing kiddos! Remember, this celebration is also a beautiful promise of all the wonder that's yet to come.
