Tanya Paris is the founder of Sparking Creativity, an award-winning educator, literacy specialist, and author dedicated to helping children become confident readers.

With extensive experience in early childhood education, literacy instruction, and intervention, Tanya has worked closely with students at all stages of reading development. Her work has been recognized through honors such as Teacher of the Year, reflecting her commitment to excellence in education.

A Personal Journey in Literacy

Tanya's passion for literacy is deeply rooted in her own experiences and her work with children in the classroom.

As an educator and a proud Dominican woman, she understands the importance of representation, language, and culturally responsive teaching. She has seen firsthand how meaningful, effective reading instruction can transform a child's confidence and open doors to future success.

Through years of teaching and tutoring developing readers, Tanya recognized the need for high-quality, culturally responsive resources that reflect the diversity of learners in our classrooms. This insight led her to create Sparking Creativity, a platform dedicated to providing educators and families with tools that celebrate all children and support their literacy journey.

Tanya Paris brings over 25 years of classroom experience along with curriculum development work, including developing decodable texts for Benchmark Education Company. At Sparking Creativity, she helps design resources grounded in the Science of Reading and built to give students a clear, structured path to reading.
