How to Use This Book:

Before Reading:

• Show the cover and point to the title. Ask students to share what they notice.
• Talk about each word and break them down phonetically.
• Write the word look on the board and add silly eyeballs to the double o’s for a fun mnemonic connection.

During Reading:

• Show students how the author uses exclamation marks to add excitement.
• Model reading with intonation to bring the sentences to life.
• Sound out words by pointing to each letter, making its sound, and blending the sounds together.

After Reading:

• Ask: “What different activities did the child do in the story?”
• Discuss: “What other things do you think this kid could do?”
• Encourage personal connections: “What are some things you can do that make you feel proud?”
